GAME CREDITS

We would like to say a huge thanks to Fatema for her amazing and hard work putting together this game.

Fatema Al Khalifa is an Undergraduate Student, studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at King’s College London.

She was awarded a King’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Arts and Humanities in 2021, to develop this project.

Fatema’s interest in understanding the changes that occur in cultures and societies and the design of e-learning tools motivated her to undertake this project. Exploring the etymology of Portuguese words highlighted the extent of the Arabic and Islamic influence on the Portuguese culture and language.

Despite this being her first time creating an e-learning game, she was able to acquire the skills needed to produce a successful prototype for the project!

GAME CREDITS

A huge shout out to Carolina for her amazing and hard work putting together this game.

Carolina Peixoto is an Undergraduate Student, studying Spanish and Portuguese at King’s College London.

She was awarded a King’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Arts and Humanities in 2022, to develop this project.

Carolina is interested in the different countries of the Portuguese speaking world and has taken quite a liking to the works of Mia Couto. One thing that draws her to his works is his inspiration of the rich tradition of African folklore and the reality of the former Portuguese colonies in Africa. As well as the uniqueness of his works, in which the creation of neologisms and amalgamated words are present, which led to the inspiration for the game.

Her first attempt at creating an e-learning game was a  success thanks to her skills and creativity!
