Alexandra Lourenço Dias is the Camões Lecturer in the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and & Latin American Studies at King’s College London and Director of The Camões Centre for Portuguese Language and Culture.
Alexandra’s research focuses on Portuguese graphic novels and processes of inter-semiotic translation from romance to the medium of comics.  Over the last few years, she extended her area of research to the lusophone post-colonial novel. She is interested in how post-colonialism manifest through the intersections between different Lusophone narratives, both visual and literary. Aleida is a Research Associate at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership.

Aleida Borges leads the Women Grassroots Leaders research stream at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership. She did her PhD at the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies, King’s College London, focusing on Youth Grassroots Politics in Lusophone Africa. Aleida is a jurist, specialising in International Public Law (Human Rights) and has taught modules including Digital Politics, Social and Political Analysis of Emerging Economies, and Digital Research Methods at King’s. She authored several publications in peer-reviewed edited collections and journals in English and Portuguese and is currently co-editing a volume focusing on the global impact of lockdowns (Routledge) and a special edition for the British Academy Journal on post-colonial Angola.

Responsible for the edition and standardisation of lexicographical criteria.Leonor holds Bachelor’s degrees in Artistic Studies (2011), History (2015) and Portuguese Studies (Minor in Classical Studies) (2021), by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (FLUC). With a deep interest in language studies, she completed 5 levels of German at FLUC having earned a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) fellowship (Bonn, 2016). Winner of a Merit Scholarship Award for the 1st year in Master’s degree in Classical Studies, she worked as Editorial Assistant and collaborated in the project Cursus Aristotelicus Conimbricensis, responsible for the transcription of the original Latin text. This work was done at the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies of the University of Coimbra. In Lille, France, Leonor took a position as a teaching assistant of Portuguese as a Foreign Language and she is currently attending the Portuguese as a Foreign Language and Second Language Master’s Degree Program.

Vítor Lindegaard was born in Lisbon in 1958 and grew up up on the district of Sintra. He lived in Portugal, but also in several other countries such as Canada, France, Switzerland, Mozambique and Bolivia. He is married to a Danish wife, has children and now lives in Denmark.
He has a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures by the FCSH of the UNL. His best known works are song lyrics he wrote for the group Rádio Macau. He published in 2010 a book of short stories (Faz de conta que histórias, Lisbon: Campo da Comunicação). He has a blog, Travessa do Fala-Só (https://llindegaard.blogspot.com), where he publishes short essays and ramblings on various topics without great regularity, and a pseudo-blog, Moçambicanismos (https://mocambicanismos.blogspot.com/), which is a glossary of Mozambican Portuguese expressions that he has been compiling since 1997.

Alfredo Cameirão is a native speaker of Mirandese, born in São Pedro da Silva, in Miranda do Douro, where he also works as a Spanish language teacher. He made his literary debut with the short story book: Tortulhas – Cuontas deste mundo i de l outro, by Editora Zéfiro, in 2009. He participated with short stories in Mirandesa language in the anthologies of Transmontano authors of the Academy of Letters of Trás os Montes: A Terra das Duas Línguas, I and II, in 2011 and 2013, Rostos de Terra, 2019 and Vozes Transmontanas, 2020. He is also the author and translator of the Mirandese version of the work: Rituais com Máscaras – Miranda do Douro, 2015 and was the translator of L Sbarrulho dun Anjo, the translation into Mirandese of A Queda dun Anjo, by Camilo Castelo Branco, in a publication of Casa de Camilo, in Famalicão. He has won two third prizes – 2014 and 1015 – in the Cuentos de la Caleya short story competition, for stories in Asturian-Leonese, in Astorga, Spain. He is a regular contributor and editor – in 2015 and 2016 – of the Mirandese language supplement Fuolha Mirandesa, of the weekly Nordeste, a regional newspaper in Bragança.

Fernanda Cavacas is a PhD in Portuguese Studies from the New University of Lisbon, teacher and trainer of teachers of Portuguese Language and Portuguese Language Literatures, supervisor of MA and PhD theses, participant in numerous seminars, conferences, round tables and debates in Mozambique and other PALOP countries, in Portugal and Brazil, she has been working for dozens of years both in the formal system and in television teaching: Como disse?/ Programa Acontece (1999-2003) or the television series Ora Viva! on RTP reflected the training through television. In the “Project of Expansion and Qualitative Improvement of Portuguese Language Teaching” of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, she promoted the reformulation of teaching programmes, the training of teachers and the preparation of textbooks, of which she was co-author, for all levels of education, in Mozambique Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and São Tomé and Príncipe. There are numerous works that she has authored, co-authored or organised, for example: O texto literário e o ensino da língua em Moçambique, Mia Couto: Brincriação Vocabular, Mia Couto: Pensatempos e Improvérbios, Mia Couto: Acrediteísmos, Alto! Ponto Final. Marina Vieira de Carvalho is a feminist, postcolonialist, writer/educator, academic and anti-racist militant. She holds a PhD in History from the Postgraduate Program in History of the State University of Rio de Janeiro, with a sandwich period at Université Paris VII (Paris-Diderot). She lectures at the Center of Philosophy and Human Sciences (CFCH) of the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), where she coordinates the teaching-research project “Pérolas Negras: Afro-Brasilidades e usos públicos da história” (Black Pearls: Afro-Brazilianisms and public uses of history). She leads the program: “Samaúma Vivificante: o Bem Viver e a educação feminina de(s)colonial” (Living Well and women’s colonial education), of the Nucleus of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies (NEABI) of UFAC. Currently, she teaches the disciplines of history teaching and supervised internship in history teaching, having extensive experience in primary education; she develops research, teaching and extension in de(s)coloniality, with emphasis on education and de(s)colonial feminines.
